Theme: THE SHEPHERD’S CUP
Memory Verse: “Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.” Psalm 23:5 KJV
A shepherd is one who takes care of a herd of sheep. His usual characteristic is to take his sheep to places where the grass is lush green. He also makes to lie down in green pastures thereby restoring any lost energy. With him, the sheep of his pasture lack nothing. Even when the wolf is on the prowl and makes his attacks on the flock, a good shepherd is ready to put his life on the line just to ensure the safety of his sheep. This is exactly what Jesus Christ did for believers. That is why He is the good Shepherd. He laid His life down on the cross just to deliver us from the power of sin and death. He relinquished His riches and became poor so that through His poverty we might be rich. By His death and resurrection, He granted us salvation thereby making us to walk on the paths of righteousness. As it stands now, even though we walk through the valley of the shadow of death and encounter all sorts of troubles, we have no need to entertain any fear evil knowing that He is always there for us. All the ugly situations we go through are designed to help us.
At the right time, He will set a table of honour and abundance before us in the presence of those that doubted us and our cup of blessings shall run into overflow. A running-over cup is a sign of a lavish host. God doesn’t stop pouring the moment your cup is full to the brim; He keeps pouring until the saucer is full too. Even when surrounded by challenges or opposing forces, the favour on your life cannot be contained. Your abundance is a testimony to the world that God is a lavish provider. So, be confident because your abundance is assured.
Worship/praise God and then take the following prayer points:
Lord, thank you for anointing my head with your oil of abundance and causing my cup to run over, in Jesus name.
O Lord, let the overflow of your peace, joy, and material blessings bless everyone around me today, in Jesus name.
O Lord, make me to walk in the paths of righteousness for your name’s sake, in Jesus name.
Lord, restore every gifts and virtues that have gone out of our G.O and Mommy in the Lord as they go about preaching your word, in Jesus name.
